Nùo Vermentino transports you to a pristine beach on the island of Sardegna, with the turquoise shimmer of the Tyrrhenian Sea in front of you and, perched on a cliff, a crumbling stone dwelling from the Bronze Age. Vermentino is Sardegna’s most famous white grape, and this one comes from Ogliastra with decomposed granite soils, the most mountainous and least populous province in the region. Locals drink it unfiltered and with abandon, and we hope you will, too! Sea salt, sage, basil, rosemary, cedar and intense lemon and lime fruit flavors abound. Drink this as an aperitivo on the beach, or pair with fresh seafood, Spaghetti alla Bottarga, grilled shrimp with rosemary or sheep's milk cheeses, like the Sardinians do.

The vineyards of Cardedu (car-DAY-do) on the southeast coast of Sardegna are owned by the Loi family, who have farmed on Sardegna for over 1000 years. Today Sergio Loi and his family grows and makes wines from the native varieties Vermentino, Cannonau, and Monica. Cardedu is one of the island’s better known traditional producers. The Loi family doesn’t think of itself as a natural wine producer; they are not in that hipster giro / circle. Yet all wines are fermented with native yeasts, and they practice dry farming without use of herbicides or pesticides.  So in fact, they are an organic estate.
