Vino Lauria Zio Paolo 2018

Black fruit, cocoa, anise, black licorice, mint leaves, sandalwood and raspberry aromas lead to more of the same in the mouth with a wonderful salinity due to the Southern Mediterranean Sea. The grippy tannins mellow with food, especially cheeses and salumi or a bowl of pasta. Made of 100% Nero d'Avola from the "Zio Paolo" vineyard in Alcamo, this is the first wine that Vito Lauria made upon returning to his family's winery in Sicily. It is quite fresh for Nero d'Avola, which is a dark grape that can get hot and heavy in the southern heat. This is beautifully balanced yet generous in style.
