The land upon which the Camigliano estate resides was certainly inhabited by the Etruscans who followed the course of the Ombrone River from the coastal Maremma area. It then became quite an important hamlet in the late medieval period, an outpost for Montalcino, joining in the fight to defend republican freedom in the middle of the 16th century. Today, Gualtiero Ghezzi, with the assistance of his wife, Laura, and children, Silvia and Isabella, produce Brunello di Montalcino, Rosso di Montalcino, Poderuccio IGT, Gamal Vermentino IGT, Bianco delle Crete IGT ,Borgone IGT, in addition to the Grappa and Extra-Virgin Olive Oil Terre di Siena DOP.
This is a great wine with intense aromas and balanced tannins that is able to express all the characteristics of the "terroir" in quality and typicality in the selection of clones in addition to the choice of the sunniest terrain with the best location. A classy wine that promises an interesting evolution that will extend over time. Best served at the optimal temperature of 18°C and paired with game, beef and aged cheeses, but it can also be served alone as a meditation wine.

The Camigliano 2019 Brunello di Montalcino offers a combination of dark fruit, ripe blackberry and toasted cardamom or cumin seed from 24 months of aging in large oak casks. This organic wine shows lots of rich concentration and oak-driven intensity that fits within the context of classic Brunello. Ultimately, the wine mirrors a warm growing area with a mix of clay, sand and rocky soils. It delivers easy texture on the mid-palate with chalky tannins. This is a big release of 190,000 bottles.

The 2019 Brunello di Montalcino wafts up with a pretty bouquet of dried roses and strawberries complicated by Tuscan dust. This is silky-smooth and polished in feel with ripe red berries that flow across a stream of brisk acidity. Orange and cedar linger as the 2019 finishes gently tannic with a pleasantly bitter tinge.
