Hugel Riesling 2018
THIS IS A HANDY HALF BOTTLE
Many consider this to be Famille Hugel's signature wine. It is a dry Riesling that stands out for its finesse and authenticity. The ideal partner to fish and seafood thanks to its wonderful balance and elegance, Hugel Riesling is a classic white in French restaurants. Considered Alsace's most demanding variety as it is also the latest ripening. Dry and elegant, it expresses itself best on the steepest slopes with the most complex minerality.
For over 370 years and with 13-family generations the Hugel family has produced beautiful classic wines of Alsace. Known today for their passion and modern outlook, the dynamic Hugel family, located in the fortified village of Riquewihr, has earned a worldwide reputation for their Alsace wines.
The grapes used to produce Hugel's “Classic” wines come exclusively from estate owned vineyards or from growers under long term contract surrounding the village of Riquewihr with complex clay and limestone soils. Vinification: Fermentation takes place in temperature controlled vats followed by natural clarification in neutral vessels over the winter. The wine is lightly fined and gently filtered prior to bottling in the spring.

Wine EnthusiastIn this wine, a hint of lemon zest on the nose is followed by traces of apple and Mirabelle plum. On the palate, this triple notion of fruit unites into vibrant juiciness and lovely balance on a light, bright body. The finish is refreshing and dry.
