Since 1850, many generations of the Bessou family have cultivated the soils of Saint-Emilion. Each generation has handed down the art and the passion of vine’s culture in total respect with old traditions. This succession of generations demonstrates the Bessou family’s passion for wine. Today Sylvie and Bertrand Bessou work in the three familial properties: Chateau Durand-Laplagne in Puisseguin St Emilion, Chateau De Tabuteau in Lussac St. Emilion, Chateau Cap de Merle in Bordeaux Superieur.
This Lussac-Saint Emilion is made of 70% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon , similar to the blends in neighboring Saint Emilion.

The 2015 Tabuteau has a crisp redcurrant and cranberry scented bouquet. The palate is well balanced, classic in style, a little leafy perhaps, but I like the terroir expression here with plenty of freshness on the light-hearted finish. This is worth seeking out. 88-90
