Viticcio Chianti Classico Riserva 2015
The first year of production of this Chianti was back in 1970. Viticcio has been making wine since 1964 among the rolling green hills of Tuscan wine country in Greve in Chianti, between Florence and Siena. The winery’s viticultural production began with the desire to capture and embody the potential of Chianti Classico, and it wasn’t long before Viticcio wines became renowned for their true and high quality expression of the Tuscan terroir. Since then, the winery has grown to encompass 120 hectares of estate-owned land among the hills of Chianti Classico and Maremma and it now produces wines from all three of these prestigious territories.
Made of 90% Sangiovese, 5% Merlot and 5% Syrah, the Chianti Classico Riserva 2015 was aged in barriques for 12 months and large Slavonian oak barrels for about 8 months. About 4000 cases produce

Wine SpectatorIntense aromas of black currant, blackberry, flint, iron, tar and black pepper mark this powerful red, which is vibrant and solidly tannic, yet all the components are in the right place. There's terrific energy on the lingering aftertaste of dark fruit and mineral. Sangiovese, Merlot and Syrah. Best from 2022 through 2043.
