Founded in 1825, today Domaine Faiveley combines the principles of modern winemaking methods with the time-honored traditions of France's noble Burgundy region. This red from one of the most famous Grand Cru vineyards in the region : Clos de Vougeot, which sits on the lower slope within the village of Vosne-Romanee directly below the Grand Cru’s of Le Musigny and Grands Echézeaux. One of the largest of Grand Crus; the 123+ acres are divided among producers. Domaine Faiveley owns 3.18 acres spread across multiple parcels.
Grapes are hand harvested and sorted upon arrival at the domaine. Following a short maceration the must undergoes primary fermentation in a combination of stainless steel and wooden vats. The young wines are aged in 70% lightly toasted new oak barrels for 16 - 18 months.
Deep ruby red with complex fruity and floral notes (roses, violets) and a subtle hint of oak on the nose. The attack is smooth with powerful tannins. This well-structured and very persistent wine is an honor to the reputation of this exceptional Grand Cru. Serve with duck breast with mushrooms, game and soft cheeses.

Wine AdvocateThe 2017 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru offers up a complex bouquet of smoked duck, dark wild berries, incense, dark chocolate and earthy spices. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, velvety and multidimensional, with impressive depth and concentration at the core, supple tannins and a long, expansive finish. This is a serious Clos Vougeot. 92-94
