Knappogue Castle Single Malt Irish Whiskey Special Barrel Release 12 year old
Only 216 bottles available, this is our first private barrel bottling from a high quality Irish distillery named Knappogue Castle in County Clare. We tasted and selected this rare, 12 year old single malt Irish whiskey, and purchased the entire barrel. Triple distillation makes this whiskey exceptionally smooth, and each bottle is individually numbered due its small production. Copper pot distilled and aged in first fill Bourbon barrels. Knappogue Whiskey is named for the Knappogue castle, built in the 15th century, which was renovated back to its original glory in the 1960's and '70's. And the word itself has a meaning of its own: Knappogue (pronounced Nah’ Pogue) translates to 'Hill of the Kiss' in Gaelic. Such a romantic word is only fitting for such a beautiful and iconic landmark, and such a beautiful, silky-tasting Irish whiskey. Look for a smooth, round mouthfeel with aromas and flavors of yellow apple, apricot skin, spices and warm biscuits. 92 proof.
