Paolo Scavino Barolo Cannubi 2016
Cannubi is the most famous vineyard in the Barolo region, and in Barolo village. The Scavino family vinifies this cru from 1985 and this is one of the two oldest vineyards of theirs planted in 1946 on the central crest of Cannubi hill. Low yield of this vineyard is due to a special combination of natural factors, one of which is the old age of the vines assuring a unique quality. Here comes the concentration and richness of this Barolo where the charm of Nebbiolo is fully expressed. Harmonious and very fine texture.

VinousThe 2016 Barolo Cannubi is a striking wine. Deep, rich and beautifully layered, the 2016 has it all. Rose petal, mint, star anise, blood orange and raspberry open up first, followed by a cascade of red fruit and floral notes that literally soar out of the glass. The Cannubi possesses tremendous textural resonance in a style that balances the sensuality of this site with a good deal of structure. It is also one of the wines in this lineup that was aged entirely in cask.
