La Sirène de Giscours (Margaux AOC) is the second wine of Château Giscours which comes from a selection of the estate's younger vines. The vinification and aging is the same as the Grand Vin, making this an extraordinary value in Margaux. A Classified Growth in 1855, Château Giscours in Margaux produces a wine of great finesse and elegance. Delicacy and power are combined to bring you the elegance expected of a great Margaux wine. The aging potential is between 8 and 20 years or even more for the most exceptional vintages.
The soils of the estate are deep gravels from the Garonne river and sand from the ice Age , planted to 60 % Cabernet Sauvignon - 32 % Merlot - 5 % Cabernet Franc - 3% Petit Verdot with vines averaging about 30 years. All of the grapes are hand-picked followed by hand sorting before fermentation in concrete and stainless steel. Aging takes place in 100 % French oak barrels(fine grain and medium toast), 50% new oak , 50% one year barrels for 15 to 18 months.

The 2020 La Sirene de Giscours is especially polished and refined, offering up aromas of blackberries, cassis, violets and burning embers, followed by a medium to full-bodied, suave and seamless palate. It will drink well on release.

Lush and forward, with a caressing feel to the friendly mix of plum puree, warmed cassis and violet notes. This has a light singed sandalwood note, which lets the fruit play out on the finish. Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot. Drink now through 2029.
