Faustini Secret Veil Cabernet Sauvignon 2016

Faustini is the Napa Valley passion project of our dear friend Anthony and Michelle Faustini. After much research during the summer of 2005, this enthusiastic couple started their first Cabernet project with fruit sourced from the illustrious Beckstoffer Dr. Crane Vineyard in St. Helena, and never looked back. Their winemaker Kian Tavakoli worked at both Opus One and Clos du Val, and is a graduate of UC Davis. With Faustini wines, it's all about using prime vineyard sites and crafting rich, balanced, elegant wines. In addition to sourcing Beckstoffer Dr. Crane, they use fruit from Galleron Road Vineyard in Rutherford, Howell Mountain and Coombsville Vineyard in Napa Valley.

This Napa stunner is made from fruit from the famous Beckstoffer George III vineyard in Rutherford. We found the wine to be very pure, round, and rich with an exotic and voluptuous personality. This easily competes with the best of the best from Napa Valley. Named after a piece of art at the Peter Lik gallery, the 'Secret Veil' Cabernet Sauvignon was first released in the 2006 vintage, and is an integral part of the Faustini wine portfolio. Made of 96% Cabernet Sauvignon and 4% Petite Verdot and aged in 100% New French Oak, there were only 98 cases produced of this very special wine. Look for a deep dark garnet-purple color opening to blackberry preserves, toast and baked plums with a waft of clove. This beauty has fantastic poise, lovely freshness and huge length on the finish and incredible depth. This wine is only made in the very best years.
