Christian Moreau Chablis Les Clos 2016
|Region||France, Burgundy, Chablis|
Wine EnthusiastThis is a rich wine, even from the normally austere Les Clos vineyard. Minerality is here, but it is surrounded by sumptuous ripe white fruits that have intense youthful acidity. It is a great wine that needs to age further, so drink from 2021.
Wine SpectatorPeach, yellow plum and melon aromas and flavors mark this round, vibrant white. Harmonious, lingering with tangy plum skin and lime notes. Drink now through 2024. 2,000 cases made.
Wine AdvocateThe 2016 Chablis Grand Cru Les Clos reveals aromas of lemon oil, waxy citrus rind, nutmeg and subtle new oak. On the palate, it's full-bodied, textural and chalky, with good depth and chewy extract, but without the completeness and dimension of a great vintage. It's a Clos that will drink well with just a year or two of bottle age.
