Made from 45 year old organic vines, we love this blend of 80% Grenache and 20% Syrah from the tiny commune of Cairanne on the southern wine route of Côtes-du-Rhône. Made from 100% de-stemmed grapes, aged in cement tanks in the old-fashioned Rhône-way. Look for kirsch, cassis, Provençal garrigue (local herbs), figs, stewed blackberries, olive tapenade and licorice. Pulled pork, pizza, meats, olives and cheeses leap to mind for food pairing.
3rd generation winemaker Guillaume Gonnet hails from the Côtes-du-Rhône area, in the south of France, farming with organic methods and minimal intervention, making pure, soil-rich wines with little oak, focusing upon the red fruit and flower-driven Grenache grape. His labels depict the local robins which fly around the vineyards and embody all that drives these wines - dreams, liberty and terroir.
