Domaine Gachot Monot Côte de Nuits Villages 2015
This under-the-radar domaine in Burgundy was founded five generations ago by the Gachot family. Today Damien and Lise Gachot work their 12 hectares of vineyards in the Côtes de Nuits Villages appellation, in a highly quality-driven manner. They basically treat the vines as if they were premier cru fruit from Nuits-Saint-Georges, providing Burgundy lovers with gorgeous wines at very reasonable prices. The couple and their wines were recommended to importer Kermit Lynch, by none other than the master of La Tâche himself, Aubert de Villaine. Damien is also a close friend of Bertrand Chevillon. Ever-smiling and tireless in his work, Damien was first saluted by the Hospices de Beaune as a young talent to be watched. This supremely tasty Côtes de Nuits Villages is made from 100% de-stemmed fruit and very old estate vines.

Bottle ShopMade from 40-45 vines planted in clay and limestone soils, this deeply colored, highly aromatic, full and complex Pinot has a plump, fleshy, ripe style. Red plums, blackberry, rose petals, mocha and more flow on the palate. We believe this will make a lot of ‘Pinot’ heads turn. Tastes much pricier and higher in pedigree than the tag suggests.
