Chateau Pontet Teyssier Saint Emilion 2019

Tasted and loved by our staff, this is a charming new Bordeaux we found from Saint Emilion. Founded in 1967, this small estate boasts vines averaging 45 years old, planted to 84% Merlot and 16% Cabernet Franc. The soils of limestone and clay are perfect for these 2 varieties, and well-known for producing top quality Saint Emilion reds. Aromatic, smooth, fruit-driven and quite delicious, we were struck by the harmony, classic nature and charm of this offering. Violets, rose petals, red cherries and plums are complemented by subtle spices and vanilla from gentle oak aging. Only 60% of the final cuvée is aged in oak, 40% in stainless steel. Handpicked grapes. Only 3300 cases made per year.
