Origin | California, Napa Valley |
Turley Wine Cellars makes thirty-four wines, the vast majority of which are single vineyard designate Zinfandels and Petite Syrahs, but also a small quantity of this Cabernet Sauvignon. By focusing on old vine vineyards in particular, Turley aims to both create and preserve California’s unique winemaking culture. All of Turley's vineyards are either certified organic by California Certified Organic Farmers or somewhere in the process, and they use all natural yeasts in the fermentations.
This wine has ripe, classic Napa Cabernet fruit, rounded out by the savory herbs and garrigue that are the marks of Turley Estate vineyard Cabernets. Medium-bodied, with great structure and a smooth, texture and long, graceful finish. Immensely enjoyable in its youth, though the wine can easily age for 5 to 10 years as well.

Deep ruby-purple, the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Turley Estate Vineyard is reticent at this stage with scents of cassis, pencil shavings and herbal streaks. The palate is restrained and mineral-driven, offering somewhat dense yet not overripe fruit, finely grained tannins, seamless acidity and a long, flavorful finish. It's easy to drink but will unwind over the next 2-3 years in bottle.

This rock-solid red is loaded with succulent boysenberry and blackberry fruit that pumps through steadily, carried by a graphite edge that lends nice form. Notes of apple wood, tobacco and savory add nuance through the finish. Best from 2025 through 2038. 1,770 cases made.
