Produced from estate-owned vineyards located on the picturesque Tuscan countryside, located in the heart of the DOCG area. Carpineto Chianti Classico Riserva showcases an elegant display of persistent raspberry and vanilla aromas, with a full-bodied texture and lengthy finish of black fruits. Aged for at least one year in a combination of French Barriques and Slovenian oak casks, followed by 6 months in steel and cement vats. The wine is bottled unfined and unfiltered, with further aging ranging from 3 months to over a year depending on the vintage.
In the beautiful olive and cypress-studded countryside between Florence and Siena lay the quaint hilltop villages of the Chianti Classico region. The wine of the same name is produced exclusively in this charming and beautiful area. Carpineto is produced from vineyards planted to a minimum of 80% Sangiovese and a maximum of 20% of Canaiolo and other red grape varietals. For the vinification, a maceration of the skins of medium duration and fermentation under controlled temperature conditions takes place. Aging is in oak barrels of various sizes and origins (Slavonian and French) for one year or more, the wine is then briefly transferred back into stainless steel tanks before bottling. After bottling the wine is aged in temperature controlled cellars for at least 10 months before release. In order to deliver the highest quality Carpineto has chosen to age this wine longer than the 2 years required by appellation rules for a Riserva. Perfect to serve with pasta, roasts and game.

This powerful red is hallmarked by forthcoming aromas of black cherry, blackberry, iron, tar and tobacco. Burly tannins prowl in the background as this unfurls to a long, detailed finish. Balanced in a broad-shouldered way. Best from 2024 through 2035. 16,600 cases made, 5,000 cases imported.

Tar, stone and the umami of mushrooms, seaweed and soy sauce open the nose of this wine before juicier sour cherries and cranberries emerge. The palate has black cherries, blackberries, milk and dark chocolate, with bitter orange at the back. Well integrated with nice length.

From a cooler vintage coming after the scorching hot previous year, the 2018 Chianti Classico Riserva has soft contours and lots of bright fruit with cherry, cassis and wild plum. This is a medium-weight Sangiovese with bright acidity. It ends with earthy notes of iris and blue flower. Production is 200,000 bottles.
