If you love New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc, you must check out this high quality, small batch estate. Founded in 1997, Craggy Range is a family owned winery, founded by Terry and Mary Peabody. Craggy Range exclusively crafts single-vineyard, terroir-driven wines. With two estate properties, Te Muna Road in Marntinborough and Gimblett Gravels in Hawkes Bay, Craggy Range is able to produce distinctive wines with class and complexity.
We tasted and positively loved this 2019 Sauvignon Blanc with its pure, classy style. We found lychee, grapefruit, nectarine, lime blossom and tropical fruit nuances on a crisp, clean, powerful yet elegant, balanced palate. Made from 100% estate fruit (very rare in NZ SB), high elevation vines, limestone soils and wild yeasts in fermentation, this is a first class wine from New Zealand. Aged for a short time in French oak, the wine does not taste oaky at all, it just gives the wine more richness and roundness. Serve with all kinds of seafood dishes, goat's milk cheeses or on its own as an aperitif.

Aromatic and complex, this white shows off pure white and ruby grapefruit, lemongrass, passionfruit and dried pineapple flavors at the core, but details of matcha, sea salt, fresh-grated ginger and toasted mint are what make an impression on the long, sleek, juicy and expressive finish.
