Originality is once again the order of the day at Château de la Font du Loup: while the vineyards of Châteauneuf-du-Pape are typically among of the most fragmented in France, the 20 hectares on which the Font du Loup estate extends are all in one piece. This geographical configuration brings a beautiful unity to the palette of aromas and flavors that the wines of the château deploy.
Château de la Font du Loup Châteauneuf-du-Pape rouge embodies the deep identity of the estate. The nose combines fruit, spices and a marked floral touch. The bouquet is precise, and illustrates all the complexity of the great terroirs of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. On the palate, notes of ripe cherry and liquorice support a full-bodied and elegant texture. The blend builds a harmonious structure, where each grape variety finds its place to offer complexity and finesse. While this red wine may be aged for 10-20 years, this cuvée can nevertheless be appreciated in its youth.

This incredibly impressive 2023 Châteauneuf-du-Pape has all the thrills we remember from when we first starting tasting and drinking reds from this appellation. Complex and pure, deep and refined, this has textbook kirsch, wild strawberry, Asian spice, garrigue, ground white pepper, espelette red pepper, anise, orange zest, clove, leather and black cherry jam aromas & flavors with a creamy, velvet texture on the medium-full-bodied palate and a fresh, vibrant finish. We were really blown away by this one after searching for new, exciting Châteauneuf-du-Pape reds.
