Louis Jadot Fleurie Chateau des Jacques 2015
Wine SpectatorLayered and fresh, this creamy red boasts raspberry compote, currant and rose flavors, underpinned by herb and mineral details. Vibrant acidity binds this together, with moderate tannins edging the crisp, spicy finish. Drink now through 2022. 1,000 cases made.
Wine AdvocateThe 2015 Fleurie was very deep in color for a Beaujolais. It has a dense, rather broody, dark berry and iodine-scented bouquet that needs to demonstrate more joie de vivre and floral notes. It feels...staid. The palate is sweet and candied on the entry, smooth in texture with a fine line of acidity. There is a slight heaviness that comes through on the finish that makes this Fleurie feel more labored than it needs to be. To be honest, I preferred the 2014 Fleurie when I tasted it last year.
