Hestan Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Stephanie 2014
Hestan Vineyards is a family-owned estate on the eastern slopes of the Napa Valley. The estate's carefully-tended 110 acres are blanketed with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec. They also operate a small Chardonnay vineyard planted at the mouth of the Napa River. Winemakers Jeff Gaffner and Thomas Rivers Brown translate these varietals into award-winning, limited-release wines for the Hestan, Meyer and Stephanie labels. Hestan Vineyards was born from the culinary passion of Stanley Cheng and his wife, Helen. Stanley pioneered hard-anodized cookware in the 1970s and has continued to improve the ways we cook through innovations from back-of-house to the backyard. Named for Stanley and Helen Cheng’s only daughter who is a classically trained harpist, the Stephanie wines are made by winemaker Jeff Gaffner using all five of the classic red Bordeaux grapes planted in the Hestan Vineyards. The Stephanie wines are a study in finesse, distinguished by their elegant structure and tremendous cellaring potential.
