The Drouhin family has been making fine Burgundy since 1880. Founded by Joseph Drouhin, the Drouhin family has always had a passion for wine. Today, the great grandchildren of Joseph Drouhin, Philippe, Véronique, Laurent and Frédéric, run the family-owned company from their ancestors' house. Each has their own personality, but together, they share a common passion for the vine and the wine. Day after day, they strive for harmony, the hallmark of Joseph Drouhin wines. In 2016, Drouhin was bestowed a great award, as Wine & Spirits Magazine named Maison Joseph Drouhin one of their Top 100 Wineries of 2016.
According to appellation laws, 16 different villages of the Côte de Beaune (Aloxe-Corton, Beaune, Pommard and Volnay are the exceptions) can be blended to make Côte de Beaune Villages. Joseph Drouhin carefully selects the grapes of only a few of these villages. Guided by rigorous tasting and age-old experience, Maison Joseph Drouhin decides which villages will be selected. The soil is made up of clay and limestone. We tasted and loved this Pinot Noir with its deep red and black fruit flavors, sweet earthy character and ripe, dense tannins.

Bottle ShopThis is hearty example of Côte de Beaune Villages with an earthy mingling of red and black fruits and hints of spices. The palate is round and deep. For consumers drinking Oregon Pinots, this would be a terrific introduction to red Burgundy at a bargain price.
