Semeli Feast Agiorgitiko 2016
We're sorry, but this product is not currently available.
Made from an indigenous Greek varietal named Agiorgitiko, Semeli's Feast red is a terrific place to start in your discovery of Greek red wines. Feast is the type of delicious, authentic red you will drink when having lunch or dinner on your dream vacation to Greece. We visited the forward-thinking Semeli winery in June 2010 and understood the true meaning of the 'Mountain Sun' name which graces some of their bottles. Surrounded by breathtaking views of mountains in the Peloponnese region, we watched the sun set over the mountains and change from gold to orange to red, and we had one of those once-in-a-lifetime experiences, when you feel so lucky to see such a thing of beauty.
Feast is made of 100% Agiorgitiko (ahhh-your-ghi-tee-ko) grapes from Nemea, and we found ripe plums, cherries, mint and flowers on the nose, with a smooth, light-medium-bodied palate of vibrant red fruits, hints of herbs and a lovely fruit/acid balance. The tannins are super light and the alcohol level is only 12., so this is the ideal summer red. We enjoyed this red at home with fresh tomato, mozzarella and basil salad with spiced olives and rosemary flatbreads, and it was super delicious! We also suggest giving this red a slight chill, 20 minutes in the frig and you should be good to go!
