Christian Moreau Chablis Vaudésir 2015
Domaine Christian Moreau Pere et Fils owns a total of 1.25 acres within the famous Grand Cru vineyard of Vaudésir. Vaudésir is located northwest of Les Clos and shares the same hillside terroir of Kimmeridgien marl-calcium carbonate soils. For vinification, up to 40% of the final blend sees time in oak barrels. Typically just 10% of that is new oak, with the majority being two and three year old barrels.
Wine AdvocateThe 2015 Chablis Grand Cru Vaudesir is completely matured in barrel. For me, this has a more convincing bouquet than the Blanchots with some gorgeous yellow flower, orange blossom and almost sweet marzipan like aromas. The palate is very well balanced with crisp acidity, detailed and precise, the mineralité coming through towards the harmonious and pleasing finish. This represents a sterling follow-up to the fantastic 2014 Vaudésir. 92-94
Wine SpectatorVanilla and lanolin notes frame peach, lemon cake and apple flavors, bolstered by fresh acidity. Long, leaving a lemony impression on the finish. Drink now through 2023. 36 cases imported.
