Cristom Vineyards was founded 25 years ago as a collaboration between an engineer and a biochemist who both possessed passion and respect for the land, natural winemaking, and the noble Pinot Noir grape. Today, second-generation winegrower and owner Tom Gerrie leads winemaker Steve Doerner and an experienced viticulture team in tending Cristom's estate vineyards, producing elegant, dynamic wines, with whole-cluster fermentation by native yeasts.

Cristom is proud to be Certified Sustainable by Low Input Viticulture & Enology (LIVE), both in the winery, and in the fields. The four estate Pinot Noir vineyards - Eileen, Jessie, Louise and Marjorie, named for Gerrie family matriarchs - each possess natural variances in soil, elevation and exposition. With minimal intervention during the winemaking process, Tom, Steve and the team strive to craft wines that are an honest recording of both the vineyard and the vintage, producing the ultimate expressions of the stellar fruit we’re fortunate enough to work with. Recognized globally as a leading producer in our beloved Willamette Valley, Cristom wines continue to be a unique blend of tradition, modernity and finesse.

The Mt. Jefferson Cuvee is the flagship Pinot Noir of Cristom Vineyards, a blend of the Cristom estate Pinot Noir along with exceptional fruit sourced from neighboring vineyards in the Willamette Valley. Each of these vineyards are farmed by committed winegrowers, each site adding to the character, fruit, and structure of the wine, giving "Mt. Jeff" its deserved reputation as one of the most stylistically consistent Pinot Noirs in the world.  After multiple tastings of every lot of the vintage, it is the "Mt. Jeff" blend that Steve Doerner crafts first. Whole-cluster fermentations by native yeast and extended aging in French oak are the hallmarks of the Cristom winemaking style. This wine ages in the barrel for twelve months, and can stylistically be the most fresh and approachable of the Cristom Pinot Noirs in its youth.

James SucklingThe nose is fresh and shows great depth with raspberry crumble, dried wild strawberries, orange peel and milk chocolate shavings. Medium- to full-bodied with lots of spicy, crunchy red fruit, tangy acidity, firm tannins and a long finish. So good now but better in 2019.

Wine EnthusiastEditors' Choice. This is Cristom's entry-level Pinot, and it over-delivers in every regard. The texture, depth and detail of higher-priced vineyard designates are all here, matching brambly berry fruit and streaks of char and coffee grounds. Drink now through the early 2020s.

Wine AdvocatePale to medium ruby-purple in color, the 2015 Mt Jefferson Cuvee Pinot Noir has vibrant red cherry and black raspberry notes with suggestions of baking spices, fertile soil and violets. Medium-bodied with a good core of rich, ripe red berry flavors and a solid backbone of grainy tannins, it finishes with a refreshing lift.
