Il Poggione Brunello di Montalcino 2015
Tenuta Il Poggione was founded at the end of the 19th century by Lavinio Franceschi, a landowner from above the hills of Florence, who became fascinated with the vineyards of Montalcino. He was one of the first to institute modern methods of winemaking and new clones of Sangiovese while still preserving the traditions of hand picking grapes and expressing distinctive terroirs. This classic Brunello is made of 100% Sangiovese from vines that are at least 20 years old and the wine spends 3 years in French oak barrels for aging.
