The Delaby family in Burgundy produces beautiful, terroir-driven wines, and a wonderful range of vineyard designates. The new generation has taken the reigns in recent years, and the wines just keep getting better and better. Look for white and yellow fruit aromas, white peaches and tons of minerals... the palate is rich yet laser-precise, both concentrated and elegant. We have been big fans of Genot-Boulanger's wines for more than 10 years. Genot-Boulanger is also farmed with organic methods.
The Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Vergers is made from a 0.7 hectare plot of Chardonnay planted in 2004. The parcel is located north of the village and is east facing. The soil is predominantly limestone but varies between more a higher concentration of marl or sand in certain spots.
