Caggiano Fiano di Avellino Bechar 2016
Antonio Caggiano founded Cantine Caggiano in 1990 with a desire to give voice to the history and traditions of his beloved Taurasi, the town which is the heartland of Aglianico-based Taurasi wines and ancient white wines such as Fiano and Greco. Today the winery is run by Antonio’s son Giuseppe, called Pino, helped by his father, to continue meticulous work in the vineyard and a passionate interpretation in the winery for the wines of Irpinia.
This classic DOCG Fiano di Avellino is from a vineyard planted in an altitude of 400 meters above sea level with soils composed of a clay-limestone mix. Look for a gold color with flowers, dried fruits and hazelnuts in the nose and apples, pears and banana picking up on the palate. Serve with fish and shellfish in particular, or as an aperitif with nuts and cheeses.
