Actor and Yakima native Kyle MacLachlan has been collaborating on Pursued by Bear with Walla Walla's Dunham Cellars for the past 10 years, making top notch Cabernets and Syrahs. The project (which takes its cheeky name from a stage direction, "Exit, pursued by bear," in Shakespeare's The Winter's Tale) was rooted in Kyle's friendship with the late Eric Dunham, a great Washington State winemaker.

Wine AdvocateSporting a deep purple/ruby color, the 2013 Reserve is a blend of 82% Cabernet Sauvignon and 18% Merlot. It offers classic dark fruits, (currants, plum), chocolate, roasted herbs and even a touch of meatiness to go with a medium to full-bodied, supple, impressively textured style on the palate. This has real depth and richness (especially in the vintage) and should keep for 15 years or more.

Wine EnthusiastThis wine is a blend of fruit from top sites DuBrul (60%) and Klipsun. Appealing aromas of milk chocolate, herb, vanilla, French-oak spices and cherry lead to supple, focused cherry, date and spice flavors, capped off by an exceptionally long finish. It delivers both unabashed appeal and plenty of nuance.
