The Balvenie is a traditional Scottish distillery located in Dufftown on Speyside. The company still grows their own barley and keeps faith with a traditional malting floor, the last of its kind in the Scottish Highlands. Their resident coppersmith maintains the stills and a team of coopers ensures each barrel is in perfect condition. The Balvenie's Malt Master David Stewart presides over every aspect of the maturation process. He crafts a range of single malts where each expression is unique, but all are rich, luxuriously smooth and underpinned by a distinctive honeyed character. Understanding his craft like few others, David uses different cask types and ages of spirit, to develop exquisite, new interpretations of The Balvenie's classic character.

The Balvenie 15 Year Old Single Barrel Sherry Cask is a celebration of the unique and mysterious interaction between oak, spirit and time. This exceptional whisky is matured exclusively in a European oak sherry butt for at least 15 years. And while each cask is subtly different—Malt Master David Stewart hand selects each barrel for its flavor of dried fruits, nuts and spice. No more than 650 hand-numbered bottles are drawn from each sherry butt, making every bottling unique and unrepeatable. The Balvenie 15 Year Old Single Barrel is bottled at a higher strength of 47.8% ABV. The nose is brimming with dried fruits overlaid with a gentle nuttiness.  On the palate this Scotch Whisky is rich and round with elegant oak and subtle spice followed by a long, sherried finish.

Wine EnthusiastMatured exclusively in a former Sherry cask for at least 15 years, this amber single-malt Scotch has Sherry-like dried-fruit and vanilla scents. The palate is boldly smoky and relatively dry, with a lift of iodine and sea breeze, plus vanilla, praline and a spicy, rather fiery finish. The production size is no more than 650 bottles drawn from a single cask.
