For over 370 years and with 13-family generations the Hugel family has produced beautiful classic wines of Alsace. Known today for their passion and modern outlook, the dynamic Hugel family, located in the fortified village of Riquewihr, has earned a worldwide reputation for their Alsace wines. The first wine in the Hugel range is named Gentil. This lovely blended white brings together the elegance of dry Riesling, the richness of Pinot Gris, the spices of Gewurztraminer and Muscat, and the freshness of Pinot Blanc and Sylvaner. Floral, dry and joyous in nature, Gentil is loved worldwide for its tasty flavor, terrific value and versatility in food pairing. Made from handpicked grapes in sustainable vineyards.
A terrific aperitif that also stands up to spicy Asian fare, seafood, roasted meats, cheeses and more. Very tough to find another white at $16.99 from anywhere on the globe with more style than this.

Very fresh with notes of sliced pears, lemons and white peaches plus a touch of white pepper spice and chamomile. It’s medium- to full-bodied with bright acidity and a phenolic touch. Dry.

The 2023 Gentil Hugel is a blend of 3% Muscat, 18% Sylvaner, 6% Pinot Blanc, 30% Gewurztraminer, 19% Riesling and 24% Pinot Gris. Despite the quite different assemblage, its customary exquisite and gentle floral perfume is preserved alongside a superb creaminess. This is scented, subtle and bright, with exquisite lightness and freshness. (Bone-dry)
