For over 370 years and with 13-family generations the Hugel family has produced beautiful classic wines of Alsace. Known today for their passion and modern outlook, the dynamic Hugel family, located in the fortified village of Riquewihr, has earned a worldwide reputation for their Alsace wines. The first wine in the Hugel range is named Gentil. This lovely blended white brings together the elegance of dry Riesling, the richness of Pinot Gris, the spices of Gewurztraminer and Muscat, and the freshness of Pinot Blanc and Sylvaner. Floral, dry and joyous in nature, Gentil is loved worldwide for its tasty flavor, terrific value and versatility in food pairing. Made from handpicked grapes in sustainable vineyards.
A terrific aperitif that also stands up to spicy Asian fare, seafood, roasted meats, cheeses and more. Very tough to find another white at $16.99 from anywhere on the globe with more style than this.

Gentil has been Hugel's calling card for dry Alsace white for years - always with a residual sugar level of around 3.5 to 4.5 g/L. The 2021 Gentil Hugel is fragrant with tender white blossom and honeysuckle. The palate is fruity, light, aromatic and has a lovely concentration that belies the price. Very easy to like and an ideal and very versatile wine with a tremendous global following - and of substantial commercial importance to Hugel. Always reliable. (Dry)
