The Roquebrun Cellars was founded in 1968 in the High Languedoc, 30 km north of Béziers between the two regional capitals Montpellier and Toulouse. The village of Roquebrun benefits from an exceptional microclimate allowing the cultivation of wine grapes, as well as orange trees, lemon trees and mandarin trees, which produce a citrus harvest for local consumption. The climate is very mild and relatively arid, and the soils consists of complex schists, complementing the grape varieties of the Saint-Chinian appellation. The Carignan is one of the local grapes, an ancestral variety claiming its place in the arid slopes, as well as the Grenache, also present for a long time. Syrah and Mourvèdre are also planted, adding aromatic potential to classic local wines.
