Clos de Tafall Clos de Tafall Priorat 2015
Clos Berenguer is a family Cellar located in the D.O.Q. Priorat, producing estate-bottled wines. The wonderful view of the Montsant mountains surrounding the vineyards establishes the beauty of this wine from the beginning. The vineyards of Clos Berenguer are faced from east to west and planted on two kinds of soil : slate and calcareous nature. This fact makes possible some combinations in the wine that produce a diversity of sensations. This wine, named Clos de Tafall, is made by blending grapes from all of the vineyards at Clos Berenguer, obtaining a high quality wine for their basic wine made for all people and general consumption. Aged in French oak barrels (1 to 4 year barrels) where the wine remains for 12 months, the blend is Grenache, Carignan and Cabernet Sauvignon. They make less than 3000 cases each year.

Wine SpectatorGenerous yet lively, this red shows cherry and berry fruit flavors that mingle with mountain herb, mineral and vanilla notes. Well-integrated tannins and tangerine acidity keep this focused. Grenache, Carignan and Cabernet. Drink now through 2025. 3,000 cases made.
Wine EnthusiastRipe earthy aromas of berry fruits, compost and cheesy oak are disparate but good. A raw, grabby palate is bumpy as it deals flavors of berry fruits, cassis and aged cheese. While the finish lacks total harmony, this wine has enough power and quality of flavors to continue on.
