Etienne Sauzet Puligny Montrachet La Garenne 2017
Wine Advocate reports: 'Winemaker Benoît Riffault has quietly steered Etienne Sauzet towards more consistency and pedigree. In Benoît they have a talented, often sanguine vigneron who seems adept at taking things in his stride, taking vintages as they come. And I must admit, upon departing the domaine I reflected upon the wines I had tasted and dwelled upon what an impressive portfolio they have accumulated.'

BurghoundAn almost Chablis-like nose combines notes of quinine, petrol and matchstick with those of cool citrus and soft floral wisps. The racy and equally well-detailed flavors possess almost painful intensity before concluding in a chiseled and beautifully persistent finish. This firmly structured effort will need to add depth to merit the upper end of my predicted range. 89-92
