Etienne Sauzet Puligny Montrachet La Garenne 2018
Wine Advocate reports: 'Winemaker Benoît Riffault has quietly steered Etienne Sauzet towards more consistency and pedigree. In Benoît they have a talented, often sanguine vigneron who seems adept at taking things in his stride, taking vintages as they come. And I must admit, upon departing the domaine I reflected upon the wines I had tasted and dwelled upon what an impressive portfolio they have accumulated.'

VinousThe 2018 Puligny-Montrachet La Garenne 1er Cru comes from just under a single hectare of vines next to Blagny. It has quite a stern, austere bouquet at the moment, a little overshadowed by the Puligny Village. The palate is well balanced with light citrus lemon, white peach and lime notes on the entry, moderate weight and commendable precision on the finish. I would afford this two or three years for the aromatics to find their groove. 89-91
