Vincent Dauvissat is one of Chablis' most prestigious and sought-after estates. He farms nearly 23 acres of meticulously kept vineyards, all in Premier Cru appellations. These vines are splendidly sited on hillsides underlain by Jurassic limestone which give the wines incredible terroir. Yields are low, all picking is done by hand and the wines are known to age for decades. A loyal following among France's most esteemed restaurateurs sharply limits the availability of Dauvissat wines for export so we were happy to acquire small quantities of the 2014s.

"This talented winemaker makes it look almost too easy, routinely turning out intensely flavored, incisive wines that manage to be both accurate to their terroir and long on personality. While the wines can be austere in their youth, they have a track record of aging superbly." Stephen Tanzer on Vincent Dauvissat, International Wine Cellar

Wine AdvocateThe 2014 Chablis Grand Cru Les Preuses has a precise, granitic and slightly smoky bouquet, cut from a similar cloth to the Vaillons Vieilles Vignes but with a touch more spiciness. The palate is fresh and vibrant from the entry, orange zest and white peach coming through and neatly embroidered with the oak. There is not a huge weight or concentration on the finish - this is more tensile and precise. Certainly afford this Les Preuses three or four years in bottle.
