Mauro Molino Barolo Vigna Gallinotto 2012
Known for producing high quality Piemontese wines especially the noble Barolo, Mauro Molino first bottled his own wines in 1985, and now works with both his son Matteo and daughter Martina. Maceration on the skins for 9 days in steel tanks at controlled temperature take place for this great Barolo, with alcoholic fermentation in steel tanks for 20 days, malolactic fermentation and aging in French oak barriques for 18 months. Further aging in the bottle for 4 months before release.
James SucklingAnother opulent 2012 from Molino with crushed strawberry, raspberry and lemon rind. Hints of stone. Full body, chewy tannins and a caressing textured finish. A beauliful young wine. Better in 2019 but excellent now.
