Dominique Lafon is considered to be one of the best winemakers in France, making some of the most coveted white Burgundies in the Côte de Beaune and the Mâconnais. He is well-known for his work with both of his family's domaines, Domaine des Comtes Lafon and L’Héritiers du Comtes Lafon. Always hungry for new challenges, he purchased 14 hectares of vines in the Maconnais in 1999. He believes strongly in the potential of the region, but feels that too few vignerons have attempted to realize that potential. Thus, in the very same spirit he runs his renowned Meursault property, Dominique utilizes biodynamic viticulture, intense soil rejuvenation, tight yield control, and rigorous green harvesting to produce some of the most complex, vibrant and impressive wines the region has ever seen.

'Anyone who has tasted with Dominique Lafon in Meursault and Mâcon will know that his passion is shared equally between both. It’s probably a good job that the two regions are less than an hour’s drive from each other.' Wine Advocate

Wine SpectatorSmoke and flint aromas lead off, backed up by ripe peach, apple and lemon fruit. This is rich, with fine acidity imparting focus and length. The mineral element returns on the finish. Drink now through 2021. 2,500 cases made.

BurghoundThis expressive effort possesses even more citrus character with its more elegant array of floral and various white orchard fruit scents. Once again there is good vibrancy to the intense and attractively delineated middle weight flavors that also terminate in a clean, dry and overtly citrus-inflected finale. 87-89
