Chateau Larrivet Haut Brion Pessac Léognan 2012

SKU 03149

In 1840, the vineyard of Chateau Larrivet Haut-Brion was first mentioned among the first growths of the Pessac-Léognan region. Located adjacent to the illustrious Haut-Bailly, this estate has an excellent terroir of pure gravelly soil in the southern section of Graves. Larrivet-Haut-Brion is well known in European wine circles but only recently has been seen more often here in America. Michel Rolland has advised the owners in winemaking and instituted a strict selection process in the vineyard as well as recommending later harvesting for riper fruit character.

Wine AdvocateA sleeper of the vintage, this 2012 offers up scents of smoked meats, charcuterie, balsam wood, black currants and unsmoked cigar tobacco in a juicy, attractive, medium-bodied, well-made, lush style. 89-91

James SucklingThis is an earthy and spicy wine with meat and wet earth character. Medium to full body, fresh acidity and a savory finish. Velvety tannins.
