Alain Brumont Gros Manseng Sauvignon Blanc 2016
Made by the same folks who bring us Montus, a top notch Madiran red, this little white reflects the joyous spirit of country life in the south of France. Made of a local indigenous grape named Gros Manseng (50%) accompanied by Sauvignon Blanc (50%) which is well-known in the Loire Valley of northern France, this white is fresh, thirst quenching and zippy with aromas of wild flowers and fruits of springtime. Both green and yellow fruits play upon the palate, in a style reminiscient of a cross between a Gruner Veltliner, a Sauvignon from Touraine and a Verdicchio. We thought this would be amazing with seafood, or poolside, or late in the day on the beach...p.s. this is definitely dry! and great for warm weather days!
