Champagne Louis Roederer, makers of Cristal Vintage Champagne, is one of the region's most prestigious houses. Roederer was founded in 1776 in the town of Reims in Champagne and is still an independent family business. This Brut Rosé is a blend of 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay, 20% of which is wine matured in oak tuns without malolactic fermentation; aged for four years in Roederer’s cellars and left for 6 months after dégorgement (disgorging) to attain perfect maturity. The wine has fruity aromas of wild red berries, followed by floral notes, and the sugary and spicy fragrance of zest; and the aromas of dried fruit and cocoa result from the wine’s vinifying in oak tuns. Rich and full-bodied, Brut Rosé exalts the maturity of the fruit. A sparkling wine with an initial impression of freshness, it opens smoothly with almost exotic notes, combined with the pure minerality of the Chardonnay grapes.

Wine EnthusiastA smoothly textured wine, this is perfectly in balance, with red berry and currant fruitiness assimilated into the lightly tannic and crisp texture. Drink from 2019.

Wine SpectatorFresh and floral, this delicate rosé features a lithe, lively mousse, with hints of white cherry, peach skin, grated ginger and orchard blossom. Pretty, offering a lingering finish of spice and mineral. Drink now through 2028.

Wine AdvocateThe Roederer 2013 Rosé has a lovely light pink color and opens with highly delicate red fruit and flowery aromas. The wine is light, fresh, pure, very delicate and stimulatingly salty. Very energetic and at the same time caressing. The finish displays pink grapefruit, blood orange, and lime zest flavors. Highly stimulating in its purity, freshness and citrus character. Jean-Baptiste Lécaillon finds it less vinous than the 2012, but he thinks the 2013 has huge aging potential. Disgorged in January, tasted at the domaine in May 2018.
