Château Duhart-Milon is owned by the Domaines Barons de Rothschild of Lafite fame. Just as Lafite has Carruades de Lafite, Château Duhart-Milon's second wine is Moulin de Duhart and is made from selected vats of the Grand Vin. In general, the grapes are from the youngest part of the vineyard. Moulin de Duhart has several characteristics similar to the first label, but with less aging potential. It is the perfect wine to drink while you wait for the first label to age! The origin of the name comes from the former presence of a windmill on the Carruades, next to the Duhart-Milon vineyard. The 2010 is a blend of ade of 51% Cabernet Sauvignon and 41% Merlot, and was aged for about 12 months in two year old barrels from the estate. Moulin de Duhart has a 5000-7000 case production per year.
