Loveblock is the project of husband and wife team, Kim and Erica Crawford. After selling their enormously popular brand Kim Crawford, they forged ahead with this organic vineyard in Marlborough, believing deeply in embracing a natural life and protecting the environment. Kim is the winemaker and has fashioned a deliciously pure and balanced Sauvignon with white peach, fig and herb notes in the nose and mouth. This will pair particularly well with sushi and sashimi, lemon grass-accented Asian fare, green salads and crispy asparagus dishes.
Farming organically and winemaking naturally, peels back the shackles of modern process and returns the wine to the flavors and aromas of the natural grapes. The goal at Loveblock is to produce gracious wines true to the terroir and mindful of the grape. Some complex, some subtle, some fruitful, others aromatic!!
The grapes are sourced from the Crawford's family-owned estate vineyards in Marlborough’s Lower Dashwood and Lower Waihopai sub-regions. The soil type is predominately aged alluvial loams containing some silt loam over stone. Dependent on vigor, the vines are pruned to two, three or four canes and trained in a normal vertical shoot position. Ideal flowering conditions, followed by a warm dry summer meant that the grapes were picked in perfect condition. As vine vigor determines the crop load, the yield was an average of 4 tons per acre (which is quite low by NZ standards).
Color: Water white with a hint of green and gold. Aroma: Lifted aromatics of canned peaches, pineapple, fresh herbs, honeysuckle and elderflower. Palate: The palate bursts with white peach, cantaloupe, Cape gooseberry and green apple underscored by green tea and a ripe herbal backbone. Long citrus and mineral finish, with linear acidity balanced by creamy mouthfeel. Food Match: Oysters, seafood, spaghetti alle vongole and chicken. Sustainable Status: Sustainably grown – SWNZ accredited. Vegan Friendly.

There’s a lovely lift of passion fruit, guava, citrus and floral aromas to start, backed by a gunflint and briny note. The palate is a graceful balance of texture, acidity, flavor and length. The long, lifted acidity and chalky bite to the finish make one want to reach for another glass. This is classy and food-friendly.

A distinctive white, with white pepper and lemongrass notes, plus a whiff of lemon mint that adds aromatic interest to the core of lemon-lime and apple on a smooth and juicy frame. Demonstrates elegance on the finish. Drink now. 35,000 cases imported.

This is not your average 2023 Sauvignon Blanc. It's aromatically intriguing, with different layers appearing with every sniff. Initially, there are notes of medicinal herbs, followed by blackcurrant, green capsicum, passion fruit and even lime. Perhaps the diversity of scents could be attributed to the combination of fermentations across tanks, oak barrels, concrete eggs and amphorae. The palate is focused on texture: there's reassuring padding on the mid-palate despite being light in body, while there's drive and punch on the dry, herbal finish.
