The Poggio Nardone estate shares a border with the Mocali estate in the region of Tavernelle in Montalcino. Here, the compact soil produces dense, long-lived reds that age really well. The Brunello comes from 5 hectares of vines at 400 meters above sea level. Only 800 cases are produced annually. Fermentation occurs in temperature-controlled stainless steel, with malolactic in 400 liter tonneaux, of which about half are new, and half are one year old.

Bottle ShopThis small production Brunello gets our nod as one of the greatest buys of the vintage. Rich, supple and fragrant with chewy tannins and ripe fruit, we found cherries, berries, stones, violets and more. Serve with a classic Florentine steak and rosemary potatoes, and this wine will sing your very own Italian concerto!

Wine EnthusiastThis is still closed and extremely tannic but opens with aromas of underbrush, mature berry, tilled soil and game. The palate offers dried cherry, grilled sage and a leathery note alongside dry, raspy tannins.
