Meet the Master Distiller :: Widow Jane Bourbon VIP Event

This is so exciting!!! We are welcoming Widow Jane's Master Distiller, Vince Oleson, to the Bottle Shop, to launch and taste our 10 Year Single Barrel Bourbon. From Kentucky to Scotland, the great whiskey distillers of the world know that it takes sweet water from tough rock to make great whiskey. Widow Jane is handcrafted in the Red Hook neighborhood of Brooklyn with water sourced from the Widow Jane Mine in Rosendale, NY, which is filled with a very special, super strong and durable limestone, the so-called tough rock.  hen Bourbon is crafted, there are various blends of corn, rye, barley and sometimes wheat. Our Widow Jane private single barrel is a High-Rye Bourbon made from 36% Rye, 60% Corn and 4% Barley. Aged for 10 years in American oak, we love its sweet and spicy nose, smooth and balanced mouthfeel and long and woodsy finish. Look for subtle notes of dried apricot, grilled nuts, fresh mint and spices. Since it is unfiltered like all Widow Jane whiskies, you may see some 'char' at the bottom of the bottle. This means you are going to see a deep, exotic color, and you are going to get tons of flavor with seductive toasted oak notes.
