Join us for this VIP Luxury Bordeaux event and taste four wines from the Cos d'Estournel estate in Saint Estephe with USA Director : Etienne de Nantes. This Second Growth is planted to Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc with old vines averaging 40+ years. The château sits on a ridge immediately north of the Pauillac border, looking down on Lafite Rothschild. Cos owns 90 hectares of vineyards with complex soils including deep gravel, limestone and clay. The first wine of Cos is typically 70-75% Cabernet from mostly gravel soils. We will taste both the new release of Cos d'Estournel : 2014 (rated 93-95 Parker), and a library vintage from our cellar: 2003 (rated 98 Parker and 'Wine of the Vintage' candidate).

The second label of the estate, Pagodes de Cos, has been produced since 1994. Here the wine is made from mostly clay soils, and is named for the architectural tower known as a Pagoda (which you will see on the top of the château). We will taste the 2014 Pagodes as well as the 2014 Goulée, which we tasted and absolutely loved with our VIP guest : Etienne de Nantes (Cos d'Estournel USA Director). The 2014 Goulée is made from a 20 hectare plot of clay, gravel and limestone in the northern part of Saint Estephe. This wine is made from handharvested Merlot (70%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (30%). The 2014 is big, rich and chewy, it is going to be a huge hit at a very reasonable price. We hope to see you at the tasting :: this is a Complimentary Bottle Shop event.
