Meet Laurent Drouhin of Joseph Drouhin Burgundy & Domaine Drouhin Oregon
At this event, you will meet one of the most prestigious VIP guests we have ever welcomed : Laurent Drouhin. Many moons ago, we were honored to welcome his winemaker sister Véronique Boss-Drouhin to Spring Lake for a special event, when their family launched Domaine Drouhin in Oregon. We have been loyal fans of Drouhin wines for two generations, starting with our parents, who loved both white and red Burgundies, and we have inherited that same love and passion.
Laurent Drouhin is a graduate of Ecole Supérieure de Géstion (ESG) with a specialization in international commerce. He joined Maison Joseph Drouhin in 1993 as sales manager responsible for Paris. “I wanted to see how difficult it is to sell wine,” he says, “even knowing how really good our wine is.” (This family has been crafting fine wine since 1880 in Burgundy!). In 1999 Laurent assumed responsibility for the United States and Caribbean markets. Laurent has a deep connection to Burgundy that extends beyond the family and the business. Like each of his three siblings, he is dedicated to showing the world the fine wines of Joseph Drouhin and Domaine Drouhin Oregon.
With his outgoing charm and exuberant personality, Laurent is a natural ambassador for the Joseph Drouhin wines. To many people the wines of Burgundy are dauntingly complicated and complex, but to Laurent it is far simpler: “The more you know about wine, the closer you get to Burgundy, and the more you know about Burgundy, the closer you get to Maison Joseph Drouhin.” Within a short space of time, Laurent can convince the most nervous of neophytes that they “get” Burgundy.
We will taste four wines : Joseph Drouhin Saint-Veran 2022, Joseph Drouhin Bourgogne Rouge 2022, Domaine Drouhin Pinot Noir 2022 and Domaine Drouhin Laurène Pinot Noir 2022. Please anticipate needing 15-20 minutes to taste the wines, and then we will process your wine order before you leave. We will also be serving exceptional French cheeses and charcuterie that pair well with Burgundy wines, and would also grace your tables on Easter Sunday.
