'3rd Annual Hugel Day'

Taste Historic Wines of Alsace, France

with Artisan French Cheeses

For over 370 years, and 13 generations the Hugel family has produced beautiful classic wines of Alsace. Known today for their passion and modern outlook, the dynamic Hugel family, located in the fortified village of Riquewihr, has earned a worldwide reputation for high quality, authentic wines. Join us for this special event with our VIP guests from Frederick Wildman & Sons, and taste several wines from this quality-driven, world renowned estate.

Along with these great wines, we are also honored to welcome Maxime Bozec from Fromagerie Beillevaire in the Loire Valley. We were wildly impressed by his artisanal cheeses when we tasted the full line-up. Our focus on this day will be Tomme de Chevre au Muscadet, a pasteurized semi-hard goat's milk washed in Muscadet wine in the Loire Valley during its aging leading to citrus and hazelnut flavors and a surprisingly creamy finish ; along with Chartreuse Bichonnée, a wonderful raw cow's milk that reminded us of our favorite Comté Gruyère. Made in the heart of Parc Naturel Régional de Chartreuse in Savoie, the cheese is made from only the cows from Tarentaise, Abondance and Montbéliarde breeds. Since 1935 there are 27 farmers who form a cooperative and make this cheese together. Immediately after milking, the cheese is made and ripens for 5 months. Then the cheese moves to Beillevaire (who Max our VIP works for) where the cheese ripens for another 100 days in the cellar in Machecoul. The cheese tastes fresh, fruity and delicate.  This buttery, tangy, nutty, and ever-so-slightly stinky soft French cheese is about as authentic France as you’re going to find.

Cheers! the Murray family
