Bottle Shop of Spring Lake
(732) 449-5525

Come celebrate Thanksgiving with us at the Bottle Shop by tasting 3 new releases tasted and loved by our staff...  Château Pesquié has been cultivating vines for 2000 years, and we will pour the terrific 2015 Terrasses red, an incredible bargain for a rich, sultry organic Rhône. Then we will taste the historic Spring Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon from the epic 2012 Napa vintage. This California benchmark has been producing wine at the estate since the late 1800's. Our third wine will be a tasty dessert wine treat from Château Pesquié. The AOC Muscat de Beaumes-de-Venise was created in 1943 and is the unique white Natural Sweet Wine (Vin Doux Naturel) in the Rhône Valley. It is fruity and a little sweet yet fresh and thirst quenching --- and great to have with a piece of leftover Apple or Pumpkin Pie!!!

Cheers! the Murray family

Château Pesquié Terrasses 2015

wa 92

Located at the foot of the Ventoux mountain in the Rhône Valley, Château Pesquié has been cultivating vines for 2000 years. In the Provençal language, the term “pesquié” (from the Latin “pescarium”) originally describes a fishpond and applies to the lexical field surrounding springs and water which are vital commodities in the dry Provençal climate. The terroir of Château Pesquié has one of the coolest microclimates in the south of the Rhône Valley. The terroir has a great mineral diversity, predominantly consisting of limestone. The Ventoux Mountain provides exceptional conditions to create outstanding wines. In modern times, the estate has been family-owned and run by the same family for three generations, making some of the best wines of the appellation. Made of 60% Grenache and 40% Syrah in the 2014 vintage, the name 'Terrasses' refers to the terraces painstakingly built by their ancestors into the steep vineyards.

Château Pesquié Muscat Beaume de Venise 2015

The Chaudière and Bastide families have now farmed the land of Château Pesquié in Ventoux for three generations. Odette and René purchased the Château in the early 1970’s. While the building itself dates to the 1750s the lands around it have been cultivated since the Roman era. Recent archaeological discoveries have proven that wine was made in this region as early as the 1st century BCE and the name of the property derives from the Latin name for fish ponds, pescarium – no doubt due to the springs that occur naturally near the Château.
