Irish Whiskey Tasting featuring Knappogue Castle
This Friday March 15th :: 5 - 7 pm
Taste Our 1st Private Barrel of Irish Whiskey
    Happy Saint Patrick's Day!

Top of the morning, Everyone! We are very excited about our newest private barrel of whiskey, crafted by Knappogue Castle in County Clare, Ireland. Up until now, we have curated barrels from renowned Bourbon distilleries such as Widow Jane, Knob Creek and Four Roses. It was only natural for us to seek out a high quality Irish Whiskey next, especially since locals call Spring Lake the 'Irish Riviera'; our family is of Irish descent on Dad's side; AND St. Pat's Day is right around the corner!!!  Knappogue Castle was built in the 15th century and Knappogue (Nah’ Pogue) translates to 'Hill of the Kiss' in Gaelic. Today the Andrews family strives to produce the best Irish whiskey money can buy, employing methods such as triple distillation, non-chill filtration and special cask aging, using Bourbon barrels, Bordeaux barrels and Sherry oak casks. We will taste all 3 luxurious Single Malt Irish Whiskeys below on Friday, with spirits expert Dan LeFever from Castle Brands, a premium portfolio that includes Knappogue, Goslings Rum, Jeffersons Bourbon, Pallini Limoncello and more.... we hope to see you there!!!

Knappogue Castle Twin Wood Irish Whiskey 14 year old

Knappogue Castle 14 year old is a multi-gold medal winning Irish Whiskey, which is the result of a marriage of 14 year old single malts aged in two types of wood: bourbon barrels and Oloroso sherry casks. It is non-chill filtered, triple distilled and bottled at 92 proof in limited quantities. The color is a light, reddish gold. The nose shows the orchard fruits typical of Knappogue Castle Irish Whiskey, but is given depth by the Oloroso Sherry cask-aged whiskey. This results in hints of fleshy fruits - like plum and apricot. The taste is rich and fruity with hints of green apple and the zest of fresh grapefruit. The malt helps to bring out the quality of the wood - sweet vanilla with light tannins from the charred oak. The finish is lengthy, with full fruity notes transitioning to a dry, barley-tinged finish.
